Renovation of a 1960s house

This large bedroom was conceived as a sequence of distinct functional zones, rather than a single undifferentiated space. The layout introduces a relaxed lounge by the window, a dedicated make-up corner, and a defined sleeping zone. The design language was guided by biophilic principles, drawing directly from an artwork significant to the client. Its warm, natural palette informed the colour strategy, creating a restorative atmosphere. To counterbalance the room’s inherently square geometry, rounded detailing and silky, velvet fabrics were introduced throughout the interior. These are reinforced by tactile material choices that add depth and sensory richness.
